ABOUT-

Kia Ora and Welcome, to my yoga sanctuary in Christchurch, NZ.

I began doing yoga as a late teen (for exercise), it very quickly became a life line to bring peace, strength and ease to my life.

With over a decade experience in yoga and meditation, I've discovered the profound peace and strength these practices bring to my life. My favourite styles include Yin, Slow Flow, and Hatha yoga, where I embrace both movement and stillness. I make it a priority to bring stillness and mindfulness into my daily life.

I have trained with some of the leading experts in yoga, meditation and somatics, (namely Scott Lyons, Tara Brach and Gabrielle Harris). I see my yoga practice as an ever evolving journey. I am always learning and seeking to evolve myself, through my yoga and meditation practice.

In addition to being a yoga teacher, I am also a piano and singing teacher. I bring music into all my classes. I bring my harmonium and sing mantras as a way to bring extra depth, meaning and relaxation to my classes.

The name Yoga as Embodiment came from a training I did on Somatic Stress Release, with Scott Lyons. I learnt that the power of our life and vitality is within our own bodies. I seek to make my yoga practice and specifically my yoga teaching an embodied experience. Yoga is a place where you can feel the truth of who you are, physically, mentally , emotionally and spiritually. Yoga as Embodiment is a space for people to show up exactly as they are. This is space that embraces all beings and creates space for deep personal exploration.

Words are not enough to express how much I love this practice. I have and continue to feel the daily impact of meditation and yoga in my life. I consider yoga teaching a creative endeavour, I am always looking for new ways to teach popular poses and to challenge my own practice. In my yoga classes you will enjoy, music, humour, poetry, relaxation, breath work and of course a good challenge.
